Naked strike in Montreal,Quebec,Canada
This is a naked strike because people want the government to be more transparent, to stop corruption etc. Plus, it’s a strike against the high of the study fees.

So I was on the metro the other day and I was looking at the map of the different lines and stations.
I do this quite a lot and it always gets me thinking
“I seriously have not been anywhere in this city.”
Cept when I was on the metro this time I was listening to Vampire Weekend and so I was feeling extra adventurous and creative (because doesn’t listening to Vampire Weekend make you feel like you’re in an indie movie?)
So I made my version of the map.
I call it
“A Jewish Girl’s Guide to the Montreal Metro System” (that is, if she even takes public transit….)
basically,
Plamondon/Snowdon= home. If I take Plamondon I catch the 161 which takes me down Van Horne aka Fleet (Van Horne has a secret Hampstead alias) right to the corner of my street. I then walk 5 blocks. Or, if I get off at Snowdon, which I usually do, I either walk 10ish blocks or I wait for the 55 or 166 and get delivered 3 short blocks away from mi casa.
Why am I telling you this? You don’t care….. There is a point to this though, I swear.
Lionel-Groulx= stop you get off at to transfer towards downtown. I will not lie, I have only ever walked directly across the platform. In other words, I have only gone from my house downtown of from downtown to my house. I’ve never had to walk up a floor to catch a train in another direction….. *shame*
Atwater= Dawson. aka school.
Guy-Concordia= A block away from Adrenaline aka my piercing place.
Peel/McGill= shopping downtown aka st-catherine
Cote-Vertu= Dollard. aka suburbs. aka mall. On the rare occasion where I would take public transit to ddo, you gotta get of in St-Laurent area and bus (it’s the 470 express or something, I believe) on the highway to the mall.
Parc Jean Drapeau= LaRonde (I NEVER go to LaRonde but if I do…) / Outdoor concert festivals
St-Laurent= behind Metropolis aka I meet bands there sometimes (*Please note- I am one of about 5 Jewish girls to ever do this. I’m 100% certain that no other Jew could locate this metro station.)
UQAM= close to underworld/metropolis/Club Soda. Never actually been inside. (Again, no Jew can even pronounce Berri-UQAM (Neither can I…) *sigh*)
*honorary mentions include: Villa-Maria, cote-des-neiges, universite-de-montreal, Parc, Cote-St-Catherine, Namur, Square Victoria, Bonaventure, etc. This is only because I know where these streets are.
And these are all I know.
I have never heard of PIE-IX (do NOT ask me how to pronounce that), Cremazie, Sauve, Charlevoic, Jolicoeur, Monk, Fabre, Beaubien, Langelier, Radisson, Viau, Assomption, Champ-de-mars etc etc etc.
Moral of the story:
I am pathetic. I have grown up in such an incredible bubble that has blinded me so badly. Even though I fought against it as hard as I could, I still have no idea what the heck D’iberville is. And fine, maybe some French kid from there has never been to Villa or something, I don’t know. But that doesn’t make it right. I know nothing about the city that I live in. In fact, I know so little that I don’t even know if someone from D’iberville would ever go to Villa.
Reality check, please.
love. a
ps: you now have all the info you would ever need to stalk me.
Shame shame shame!
